Mish Mash Challenge - Metallic.

Hey Everyone.. It is that time of the week again... Yep, you guessed it Mish Mash Challenge.  Today's theme is metallic.
This had me thinking a lot of what to do.  What did I have that was metallic.  I did not want to use a conventional metallic nail polish.  I wanted everyone to make sure that they knew this was metallic.

The most metallic thing I own are foils. I was reluctant because I had tried them a time or two before and I don't know if I was doing something wrong or if I was just impatient..
I must say that I decided to go ahead and take my time. I know the last times I did it and failed I had topped the foil off with top coat.. What a bad idea, the top coat made the foil crinkle and it ended up looking hideous.
Foils are also almost  one day use.  If you scratch the surface it will scratch the foil off.  With that being said, I only did one hand and then removed the foil.  I was only going to work and I know it would scratch off, so I didn't bother wasting any more of the foils

The pictures below are foils from Ciate.  The silver is anyway.  I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the collection.  The purple was something I picked up from Walmart.  Is it from Kiss?  They brought out a whole line of nail art things..  I divided the colors with matching stripe tape.  NO TOP COAT =)

Here we go ...

These next photos are in direct sunlight.

Foils really are pretty. I only wish that they made them more durable and scratch resistant lol.
Thanks for looking.. Don't forget to check out the other ladies wonderful metallic manis as well.

Kimber's Mish Mash Challenge Week 1 - Purple

Good afternoon everyone.  Since starting this blog I had wanted to participate in a challenge but not a "You have to participate challenge" & not one that was every week, although Lord know I do my nails enough to be able to. Anyway, Kimber  from Kimber's Lacque Korner has some amazing challenges along with some other equally amazing ladies.
I will get right on to what I did, I hope you will check out the rest of the lovely ladies participating as well at the bottom of my post.  But first, if you'd like to follow what will be going on with this challeng, please check out the schedule below..

So now on to the challenge mani.
I did purple, on purple, on purple. =)
I used Sinful Colors - Lavander as my base color.  I then used a fan brush and applied one color at a time. I placed a small bit of each polish on a paper plate and just lightly put the tips of my fan brush into each color.  It only made sense to do all my nails with the first, & so on.  I also cleaned my brush in acetone every few strokes.
The first color was Pure Ice - No means No which is a dark purple metallic like with a bluish shift. I then went over it a second time with Color Club - Eternal Beauty. Color Club's beautiful holo purple. And then, as if the holo just wasn't enough I added a few strokes of Pure Ice - Cheatin to the mix.
The outcome is what you see below.

Tried getting direct sunlight, but it is mostly cloudy today.

The sun managed to peek out long enough.

Please make sure to check everyone else's Challenge Manis out today as well.

Saran Wrap Nails

Hey everyone, I will be posting 2 blog posts tonight.

The first one is of the mani I had on yesterday & a surprise photo at the end =) For this mani I put down a base of Sinful Colors White on White, I then took a balled up piece of saran wrap and my water color pallet. I wet the pink, blue, and purples and began o lightly 'sponge' the colors on individually with the saran wrap. I then took Sinful Colors Crystal Clear which is a clear base with silver holo diamonds, small holo glitters, and iridescent bar glitter.

 The out come was this...

This was very simple, dried very fast.  Nothing to flashy or spectacular.

Now on to the surprise post.
I had my 4 year old step daughter over the weekend, she absolutely adores her nails done.  I attempted a water marble on her itty bitty nails lol..

Here is how they turned out.

This was Pink & Purple from LA Girls, I apologize that I don't recall the exact names and that the image is blurry.. Try getting a 4 year old to sit still as long as this one had to.. lol..
I'll never torture myself like that again.. =)

Have a great evening gals..

Holy HOLO ;)

I wish the sun would have stayed out just a little bit longer today so that I could have captured the holo in all its wonderful. magical glory.. But when you live in the butt hole of the world, this is what happens...

Heavy rain, thunder, lightning, possible flooding (thank goodness for living at the top of a hill), hail, etc.  But, I guess it could be worst, it could be that cold white fluffy stuff & worst yet.. ICE.

Well anyway, tonight I have on Eternal Beauty from the Color Club Halo Hues collection.  I love this polish. It is also a wonderful polish to use for water marbles.  This is actually the first time I am wearing it by itself.

I LOVE IT!  I have 2012 & 2013 Halo Hues.  All have yet to be tried. I will check this one off the list.  And I will give it an E - for EXCELLENT!

Here are the photos.  These where taken from my Samsung Galaxy in macro setting in my kitchen under 12 fluorescent lights lol.. Don't judge =)  I like to see what I'm cooking and eating.

Love the shine, At least I was able to capture that.  Top Coat would be NYC  Grand Central Station which id their In a NY Minute collection.   It is my favorite top coat of all time.  Especially for being a cheapy.

I might mention that I accented my ring finger using Halo Hues in  Cloud Nine &  Harp on it using a dotting tool.
