Mish Mash Challenge - HOLOGRAPHIC

Hey there everyone..
I hope you will all forgive my absence the past few days.
I missed last weeks challenge which was themed 'PINK', but for this weeks challenge I actually did 2, and the second one will make up for the missing post for last week =)
I hope you were all able to check out all the other challenger's PINK manis though.  There were definitely some beauties.  I know I enjoyed all of them.. Some talented, wonderful women are in this challenge with me and I am humbled that they allowed me the opportunity to participate along with them.

Anywhooo.. On to the first HOLOGRAPHIC mani.
This is Zoya Payton.
Excuse my nails, my hands have been through hell the past weeks.
This polish is gorgeous.. BUT.. I have to say I am a bit disappointed at the holo-ness of this, seems after I put top coat on, the holo died a bit, but I think I have heard that about holo polishes before.. Correct me if I'm wrong.
To me, it is weird.. It is not a glitter, or a shimmer, but almost kind of like a flake to me.
Holo or no holo.. This is a beautiful polish.  Application was a breeze and what you see is 2 coats.

With Flash.

Also with flash
Flash.
Bottle shot.
These next photos are all in fluorescent lighting.

Next up, I have for you Catherine Arley #672 & what I am claiming to be my very late entry for last weeks entry =) lol
I bought, I believe 12 Catherine Arley polishes from eBay.  I have worn 2 so far, both of them went on spectacularly.  In my opinion they almost have a 'jelly' consistency.  They really flow like a dream.
If you guys don't have any of these polishes, I HIGHLY recommend getting your hands on some.
I want to add about the shine. This is NO top coat. The shine is amazing!

I wish for both of these I could have given you the holo effect, but unfortunately the sun has not been out much here in Northeastern Pennsylvania =(  Winter is creeping upon us.  (Yay snowflakes)
Don't forget to check out all the other challengers below, leave your comments, I always try to respond and follow back.
Have a great afternoon.

Mish Mash Challenge Week 4: Nail Art Technique I Never Tried Before.

**** Pic Heavy ****
Happy Mish Mash Day everyone.
I am going to start off by showing you the base coat for my challenge mani, which BTW is a water spotted mani. =D

I used Salon Perfect in Zapped. The application was good & what you are seeing is 3 coats with top coat.

Here is where the fun starts, =)
I used Wet N Wild Fast Dry in Saved by the Blue.
I used room temperature, bottled water just like you would for a water marble.
I then proceeded in adding 2 drops of WnW, waiting for the polish to spread, & then I gave it a spritz of hair spray. I like the way it turned out, however bad choice in colors by myself.
It looked like it needed something, so I topped it with a coat of Spetraflair =)
What do ya'll think?

I have to mosey on over to see what all the other wonderful ladies chose to do, it will be interesting to see some of the techniques that the more seasoned ladies did.
Go check them out too!! =)
All products in this post were purchased by myself & the opinions are also that of myself.

Thanks for taking a peek =)

Mish Mash Challenge - Metallic.

Hey Everyone.. It is that time of the week again... Yep, you guessed it Mish Mash Challenge.  Today's theme is metallic.
This had me thinking a lot of what to do.  What did I have that was metallic.  I did not want to use a conventional metallic nail polish.  I wanted everyone to make sure that they knew this was metallic.

The most metallic thing I own are foils. I was reluctant because I had tried them a time or two before and I don't know if I was doing something wrong or if I was just impatient..
I must say that I decided to go ahead and take my time. I know the last times I did it and failed I had topped the foil off with top coat.. What a bad idea, the top coat made the foil crinkle and it ended up looking hideous.
Foils are also almost  one day use.  If you scratch the surface it will scratch the foil off.  With that being said, I only did one hand and then removed the foil.  I was only going to work and I know it would scratch off, so I didn't bother wasting any more of the foils

The pictures below are foils from Ciate.  The silver is anyway.  I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the collection.  The purple was something I picked up from Walmart.  Is it from Kiss?  They brought out a whole line of nail art things..  I divided the colors with matching stripe tape.  NO TOP COAT =)

Here we go ...
Florescent lighting.

These next photos are in direct sunlight.

Foils really are pretty. I only wish that they made them more durable and scratch resistant lol.
Thanks for looking.. Don't forget to check out the other ladies wonderful metallic manis as well.

Kimber's Mish Mash Challenge - Week 2 - Taping

***Post is pic heavy ***
Hi everyone, as you know we are in the second week of Kimber's Mish Mash Challenge. This week is taping.  Here is a list of the weeks to come..

A lot of fun, so make sure that you stick around and check out all the awesome nail art from myself & all the other way more talented ladies in the challenge.

On to  my challenge mani.
I did a pink and silver sponged gradient. I randomly sponged the sliver over the pink.  The colors are both Sinful Colors, the pink is 24/7, a bright neon pink creme that dries to a matte finish like most other neons. The application was very nice and the color gives a loud pop. & the silver is from a new collection I found at Rite Aid.  Was it Opening Night?  I can't seem to remember, I was to in awe of of the new Sally Hansen Sugar coats that was right above the display.
Anyway, the name of the silver is Silver Screen. Silver Screen is not a silver, silver, it is kind of a blackened silver IMO anyway.  As usual, application was great. A wonderful metallic-y shimmer that my collection needed =)
I used my striping tape and randomly placed lines across my nails. I then topped it with LA Girls 3-D Effects in Black Illusion - A scattered holo.

Here is a few pictured of just 24/7 & Silver Screen before

This one has top coat.

Now, on to the pics with Black Illusion and the taping done..

Sunlight & some holo

Nice little rainbow there =)

So, that is my taping mani for the Mish Mash Challenge.  Please be sure to check everyone else's manis out as well..
