Kimber's Mish Mash Challenge - Week 2 - Taping

Hi everyone, as you know we are in the second week of Kimber's Mish Mash Challenge. This week is taping.  Here is a list of the weeks to come.. 

A lot of fun, so make sure that you stick around and check out all the awesome nail art from myself & all the other way more talented ladies in the challenge.

On to  my challenge mani.  

I did a pink and silver sponged gradient. I randomly sponged the sliver over the pink.  The colors are both Sinful Colors, the pink is 24/7, a bright neon pink creme that dries to a matte finish like most other neons. The application was very nice and the color gives a loud pop. & the silver is from a new collection I found at Rite Aid.  Was it Opening Night?  I can't seem to remember, I was to in awe of of the new Sally Hansen Sugar coats that was right above the display.

Anyway, the name of the silver is Silver Screen. Silver Screen is not a silver, silver, it is kind of a blackened silver IMO anyway.  As usual, application was great. A wonderful metallic-y shimmer that my collection needed =)

I used my striping tape and randomly placed lines across my nails. I then topped it with LA Girls 3-D Effects in Black Illusion - A scattered holo.

***Disclaimer*** I personally purchased the following polishes from CVS this afternoon. These were not given to me to review. I figured I would review the 4 polishes that I picked up this afternoon since it was a lighter purchase than normal =(.. First I have for you Mar-zi.panna by Spoiled which is by Wet n Wild. This is a nice light mint green|bluish cream polish. Almost similar to Color Club's Blue Ming if you are familiar with that color at all. Spoiled has a nice large brush like the some of the pro polishes. The application was perfect in 2 coats, there is no shimmer to this polish at all.

Here is Mar-zi-panna on just an acrylic nail wheel.  2 coats, no top coat.

Next polish is Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Tight Knit.  Now I know these have been done to death, but I have been looking for this one.  I wish I had it for the 4th of July..

Application is good.  Nice coverage in 2 coats.  No fishing.  None of the glitters drug.

Last, but not least is the new Milani effect polishes.  I did not purchase any of the cream colors that were released with this only because I think they are very similar to many other colors.  And plus, black & white goes with just about anything =) This is called Carnival.  It has black bar glitters, black hex glitters, & large white hex glitters which I might add that sink to the bottom and you have to fish out.  I was disappointed with this one. 

2 coats, no top coat.

Saran Wrap Nails

Hey everyone, I will be posting 2 blog posts tonight.

 The first one is of the mani I had on yesterday & a surprise photo at the end =) For this mani I put down a base of Sinful Colors White on White, I then took a balled up piece of saran wrap and my water color pallet. I wet the pink, blue, and purples and began o lightly 'sponge' the colors on individually with the saran wrap. I then took Sinful Colors Crystal Clear which is a clear base with silver holo diamonds, small holo glitters, and iridescent bar glitter.

 The out come was this...

This was very simple, dried very fast.  Nothing to flashy or spectacular.

Now on to the surprise post. 

I had my 4 year old step daughter over the weekend, she absolutely adores her nails done.  I attempted a water marble on her itty bitty nails lol.. 

Here is how they turned out. 

This was Pink & Purple from LA Girls, I apologize that I don't recall the exact names and that the image is blurry.. Try getting a 4 year old to sit still as long as this one had to.. lol.. 

I'll never torture myself like that again.. =)

Seeing Spots

Hey everyone =)  The sun is finally back out.  I have today a cool, easy, & very summery design for you all today.  

When I put the base coat on I was like " Whoa!  Needs me some sunglasses" lol.. So, I got inspired by the small rainbow we had outside last night.. 

The base coat is Orly Oh Cabana Boy.  The dots were made with a dotting tool and the following polishes..
